This is an illustration I made back in high school that was selected to be shown in a gallery at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. This piece is entitled “The Ugly Truth” and the goal of the project was to use different words to create an image, following the rules of stippling. I wanted to make this work important and have meaning so I took every horrible word that I could think of and created the image of the girl huddled in a corner. I chose this path so that people could see what happens when you insult someone, call them names, or say horrible things behind their back. The words eventually become apart of them and their being and they are eventually never able to escape that. It took me two weeks to complete and it is made of ink on paper.
